AND IT BEGAN

Image
And it began, the moment had arrived. No one knew if this was the reckoning, nor who would survive. Shadows of men walking the earth below, nothing left to learn, nothing left to know. We watched as the sky darkened, a gray cloud looming overhead. No angels of heaven harkened the day aloud, “The glooming of her dead was awakening, and it is said we are what is left for the taking.” The thunder growled low from inside the mount’ and a blaze of lightening reached out and touched its sides. Torn asunder, howled below, we gathered, losing count in the haze, the flashes frightening e’en those who still preached and shouted; “Satan’s clutch, we must hide!” Those of us who were but apparitions of men, who once lived a glorious life upon this ground, chose to cover ourselves in dust without apprehensions, ingloriously running beyond fear to be found before the mount’ closed forever, through the storm, t’ward some ominous yet hypnotic sound. When Nobody Wins

The heat emanating from her bowels, Now overcome with the toxic air. Many have succumbed to their fouls, They disappeared, no longer there… Where have they gone, where could they run, To escape the wrong and what they’ve done? Bodies hardened against the molten rise, Curled against its constant offenses. Listen to their pain in echoing cries, Stripped bare of their final defenses. Where are they now, hiding their sins? Above my universal being – Sits now at the head of my heavenly form. This Celestial disbelieving – Caught within the pull of this magnetic storm. Yet, below the head of this monstrous face, Something hums a soft and calming lullaby. The sparkling dances in the dark with grace, Circling, twinkling with an innocent sigh, Within my soul, a sense of fleeting, Awareness of becoming, born too soon; Gentle cadence of a heart beating, Reacting to the orb, my mother moon. She reassures me, you are what you are, No comprehending this destined birth. Fear not, at your head burns a mighty star, ...
